Rhodes Island
Rhodes Island was governed by the city-state of Rhodes, which was an important city-state in ancient times. This city-state was founded in 408 BC and was one of the most important trade centers of the ancient world. The city of Rhodes could control many ports in the Mediterranean because it had a large trading fleet.
